Hyderabad – The Telangana State Government has announced plans to hire 5,000 civil engineers as licensed land surveyors. These professionals will support the recently launched Bhu Bharati portal, a digital platform aimed at streamlining land registration and records.
The surveyors will work closely with local officials to carry out regular land surveys. These surveys are now a required part of the land registration process under the new Bhu Bharati Act.
P. Srinivasa Reddy, Minister for Revenue and I&PR, stated that the Survey, Settlement, and Land Records Department is being upgraded. The goal is to deliver faster and more reliable services to the people of Telangana, especially farmers. The move is also expected to resolve long-standing land issues in several panchayats.
Currently, only 402 surveyors are active across the state. This number is not enough to meet the growing demand created by the new digital land portal. The government will now recruit additional surveyors based on the volume of land transactions in each mandal and town.
Eligible candidates can apply for the licensed surveyor training program until May 17. To qualify, applicants must have passed Intermediate (Mathematics) with at least 60% marks. They should also hold qualifications such as Draftsman (Civil), Diploma (Civil), BTech (Civil), or an equivalent certificate from ITI.
The training will last 50 working days and will be conducted at the district headquarters. The Telangana Academy for Land Information and Management will oversee the program.
Officials have been instructed to carry out the recruitment and training process efficiently, ensuring the newly licensed surveyors are deployed quickly to support the Bhu Bharati system.
