Hyderabad is set for a transformative initiative to enhance industrial efficiency and support India’s climate objectives. The Union Ministry of Power, through the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), will introduce the ADEETIE scheme to promote energy-efficient technologies in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector.
The official launch of ADEETIE takes place on July 15, 2025, in Panipat, Haryana. This event marks a significant step in India’s journey toward energy efficiency and climate change mitigation. Union Minister for Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, will attend as the Chief Guest, alongside top officials from the Ministry of Power and the Government of Haryana.
ADEETIE aims to integrate advanced global energy-efficient technologies within India’s diverse MSME sector. The initiative offers technical support, interest subsidies on loans, and policy assistance to help industries cut energy costs, boost productivity, and contribute to India’s clean energy transition.
The Panipat event will showcase several key activities: the launch of the ADEETIE web portal at adeetie.beeindia.gov.in, the release of the ADEETIE Scheme Brochure, recognition of MSMEs leading in energy-efficient technology adoption, and the signing of agreements between BEE and major MSME associations to expand implementation across industrial clusters. Attendees include senior Ministry of Power officials, State Designated Agency leaders from across India, industry figures, MSME stakeholders, and financial institutions.
A Media Advisor from BEE emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating that the Panipat launch represents a pivotal point in India’s industrial energy transformation. ADEETIE is expected to become a crucial step in embedding energy efficiency into MSME operations, fostering greener and more resilient economic growth.
India aims to reduce its GDP emissions intensity by 45% by 2030 under the Paris Agreement. ADEETIE directly supports this goal while promoting sustainable industrial practices and innovation at the grassroots level.
This ambitious scheme is set to transform the MSME sector, regarded as the backbone of the Indian economy, into a model of energy-smart manufacturing and climate leadership.
BEE has praised several states for successfully implementing energy efficiency pilot projects, such as Telangana‘s energy department through TS REDCO, which has effectively executed decarbonization and energy efficiency initiatives in MSME clusters, including the pharmaceutical sector.
These actions are anticipated to provide significant energy and economic savings for the involved clusters. ADEETIE aligns with India’s broader climate objectives, including reducing emissions intensity by 45% by 2030 and achieving Net Zero by 2070.
