Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka highlighted that the current Congress government is dedicated to the effective use of the SC/ST Sub-Plan funds. Unlike past administrations, they ensure that these funds are spent wisely without any diversion.
The government aims to create a fair and dignified society in Telangana. Speaking at an event at Banjara Bhavan, Bhatti emphasized that the government is committed to the people, not influenced by feudal interests. The funds allocated under the Sub-Plan are being used meticulously. He mentioned that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has utilized the leftover funds from previous governments.
Bhatti pointed out that earlier governments, including United Andhra Pradesh, neglected these funds. Now, Rs 40,232 crore has been allocated for the SC Sub-Plan, with Rs 13,223 crore carried forward. For the ST Sub-Plan, Rs 17,169 crore is allocated, along with Rs 1,296 crore of unspent funds from before, ensuring no misuse occurs.
The government plans to redistribute lands to the poor and criticized the past government for mistreating tribal farmers. The current administration initiated the Indira Soura Giri Jala Vikasam scheme, aiming to cultivate 6.7 lakh acres of forest rights land. This scheme provides tribal farmers with free resources like pump sets and irrigation systems, promoting crops such as avocado and bamboo. The scheme’s budget is Rs 12,500 crore.
Bhatti questioned the previous government’s inability to implement beneficial schemes despite having higher revenue and incurring loans of Rs 7.5 lakh crore. He also criticized the lack of improvements in welfare hostels over the past decade.
