Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, who is also the Chancellor of Osmania University, recently helped a postgraduate student receive recognition for her hard work. Dr. Tamilisai is known for reaching out to students and addressing their issues through the Chancellor’s Connect program. In this case, she responded to reports that Osmania University was unable to award a gold medal to Vishnu Vachana, the top student in Postgraduate Genetics studies, due to lack of sponsorship.

Dr. Tamilisai was deeply moved by this matter and took immediate action. She contacted Dr. Krishna Ella and Suchitra Ella, the Executive Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Biotech International Limited (BBIL), a Hyderabad-based company known for developing the Covaxin COVID-19 vaccine. Dr. Krishna Ella and Suchitra Ella generously agreed to sponsor the gold medal for the Genetics Topper at Osmania University.

Dr. Tamilisai extends her appreciation to Dr. Krishna Ella and Suchitra Ella for their prompt response and dedication to advancing genetic sciences and fostering excellence among young scholars.
