Hyderabad: Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, who is also the Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTU-H), urged graduates to adopt creativity, ethics, and human values amid fast technological advancements. He encouraged young people to help build a self-sufficient India.
Speaking at the 13th convocation of JNTU-H on Tuesday, the Governor praised the university’s growth in applying the National Education Policy (NEP) and its high educational standards through new courses and innovative digital learning.
The Chancellor mentioned that JNTU-H secured Rs 498 crore in research funding from government bodies. He pointed out the enrollment of 237 international students from 25 countries, showcasing the university’s global reach and standards.
He remarked, “True education involves using knowledge for the betterment of society.”
Jishnu Dev Varma congratulated the students, faculty, and staff, celebrating the university’s 50-year milestone.
During the ceremony, 91,840 degrees were awarded for the 2023–2024 academic year, covering undergraduate to doctorate programs. He praised medal recipients, highlighting the essential support from parents, teachers, and families.
