Gadwal: The 134th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was celebrated with respect and enthusiasm in Gadwal on Monday. Dr. Ambedkar was the main architect of the Indian Constitution and a strong voice for equality and justice. The celebrations began at Ambedkar Chowk, where District Collector B.M. Santosh garlanded Dr. Ambedkar’s statue and lit a ceremonial lamp to start the event.
During his speech, the Collector spoke about Dr. Ambedkar’s major role in shaping modern India. He highlighted how Dr. Ambedkar fought against untouchability, discrimination, and social injustice. He said that because of Dr. Ambedkar’s efforts, all communities enjoy equal rights today. He also credited him for bringing voting rights, reservations, and equality for backward classes.
The Collector also talked about Dr. Ambedkar’s belief in the power of education. He said that education was seen by Dr. Ambedkar as a way for people to grow, bring change to society, and achieve equality. He encouraged everyone to follow Dr. Ambedkar’s vision and help build a better and fairer society.
Later in the day, a formal celebration took place at the Collectorate office. The Collector, along with other district officials, paid floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar’s portrait.
Several important people attended the event, including Additional Collector Narsinga Rao, Agricultural Officer Narender, BC Welfare Officer Ramesh Babu, and SC Welfare Officer Saroj. Community leaders, public representatives, and staff members from the Collectorate also participated.
The event reminded everyone of Dr. Ambedkar’s values—social justice, equality, and the importance of education—and encouraged people to follow these ideals in their daily lives.
