A series of rituals and cultural events will be held at the Hare Krishna Temple in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, to celebrate Krishna Janmashtami. The celebrations will take place from August 25 to August 27.
Devotees will have the opportunity to see Krishna in four different forms: Radha Govinda, Godha Krishna, Radha Gopinath, and Laddu Gopal (Makhan Krishna). On August 25, the temple will be open for darshan and Jhulan (a ceremonial swing) from 8 am to 9 pm. In the evening, special rituals including Maha Abhishekam, Arati, and Jhulan will take place from 7:30 pm to 10 pm.
On Monday, August 26, darshan will be available from 8 am until midnight. The Jhulan ceremony will continue from 8 am to 10:30 pm. Devotees can also witness Abhishekams (ritual baths) of Radha Govind at noon, in the evening, and at midnight. The 108 Kalasha Vishesha Abhishekam and Pravachan (spiritual discourse) will be held between 6:30 pm and 8 pm, followed by Arati and Jhulan from 8 pm to 9 pm.
The midnight Abhishekam, Maha Mangala Arati, and Jhulan will be conducted from 10:30 pm to 1 am. On Tuesday, August 27, the celebrations will include Nandotsavam and Vyasa Puja from 8 am to 9 pm. Chappan Bhog (a special offering of 56 items) and Raja Bhoga Arati will take place at noon.
Similar celebrations will also be held at the Hare Krishna Heritage Tower in Narsingi and the Hare Krishna Cultural Centre in Kandi, Sangareddy, according to a senior official.
