Harish Rao Criticizes State Government Over Farmers, Labourers, and Law & Order Issues
Senior BRS leader T Harish Rao has criticized the State government for failing to address key issues affecting farmers, agricultural labourers, and the police. Speaking on Wednesday in Sangareddy, he highlighted unfulfilled promises, rising crime rates, and urged the government to take immediate action.
During a press conference at his camp office, Rao accused the government of mistreating farmers by imposing unnecessary conditions on the ‘Rythu Bharosa’ scheme. He said requiring farmers to submit self-declarations to receive benefits was an insult to their hard work. “Why impose conditions on those who work tirelessly to feed the nation?” he questioned.
Rao also reminded the government of its unfulfilled promise to provide Rs 15,000 per acre for both Kharif and Rabi seasons. He pointed out that many farmers were still waiting for loan waivers above Rs 2 lakh, which had been promised in the manifesto. This delay, he said, has left farmers in financial trouble. Furthermore, he demanded that the government give unconditional financial assistance of Rs 12,000 annually to all 1.04 crore labourers with job guarantee cards.
The BRS leader also raised concerns about the deteriorating law and order situation in Telangana. He revealed that the state had entered the ‘Yellow Zone’ for crime, with a 23% rise in overall crimes and a 29% increase in rape cases. Rao blamed the Chief Minister for this alarming trend, as the CM also holds the Home portfolio.
Rao accused the government of neglecting the welfare of the police while using them for political purposes. He claimed that Revanth Reddy was using the police for political revenge, which was damaging their pride and integrity. Rao urged the government to act quickly, fulfill its promises, and take steps to regain the trust of the people.
