Heavy rains in Odisha expected to be triggered by depression

A low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is expected to turn into a depression, causing heavy rains in Odisha for the next five days, according to the Meteorological centre in Bhubaneswar. The city of Bhubaneswar has already experienced heavy rainfall, accompanied by lightning and thunder. This has caused inconvenience for the residents, with knee-high rainwater flooding several areas. The worst affected areas include Old Town, Nayapalli, Laxmisagar, Rasulgarh, Acharya Vihar, and Satyanagar. In these low-lying places, water from both rain and drains has entered ground floor houses.
