Telangana is bracing for an intense heatwave starting today, with northern districts expected to bear the maximum impact of the scorching temperatures. The India Meteorological Department has issued warnings as mercury levels are predicted to soar significantly across the state. Adilabad, Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagitial, Mancherial, Bhupalapally, Peddapalli, and Mulugu districts are likely to experience extreme heat conditions with temperatures touching 44-45°C. Residents in these areas have been advised to take necessary precautions and avoid direct exposure to the sun during peak afternoon hours.

The state capital Hyderabad is also set to witness sweltering conditions with temperatures expected to range between 41-43°C. The city may experience isolated rainfall during afternoon to evening hours, though most areas are likely to remain dry. Citizens have been urged to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day. The sudden spike in temperatures marks the onset of summer conditions across the state, with health officials recommending increased water intake and wearing light-colored, loose-fitting clothing.

Despite the prevailing heatwave conditions, some relief is expected in select districts through isolated thunderstorms during evening hours. The districts of Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Narayanpet, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Mulugu, Mancherial, and Khammam may witness sporadic rainfall and thunderstorm activity. These weather systems are expected to provide temporary respite from the intense heat, though they will be limited to specific locations and may not bring widespread relief across the affected regions.
