The Telangana High Court single bench, led by Justice K. Lakshman, instructed the police not to arrest Bandi Sanjay Kumar, MP and BJP national general secretary, along with five others until June 11 in relation to the Chengicherla incident. The judge also asked the police to submit a counter-affidavit and to notify the petitioners under Section 41A Crpc before taking any action against them.

The two criminal petitions, CRLP 3728/2024 & CRLP 3729/2024, were filed by Bandi and five others to dismiss two FIRs (FIR.No. 360 and 361 of 2024 in PS Uppal) charged against them under various sections of the IPC and Prevention of Public Property Act. The accusations stemmed from allegedly destroying barricades and obstructing police duties, resulting in injuries to law enforcement personnel and other staff. Bandi and other BJP activists had visited Pittalbasthi, Chengicherla, on March 25 to support ST community victims who were attacked by Rohingyas during Holi celebrations.

Saheel @ Md Raheel Amir, son of former Bodhan MLA Shakil Amir, filed a petition on Wednesday seeking to eliminate the LOC issued against him. Saheel is a suspect in FIR No. 886 of 2023 involving a hit-and-run incident registered by Panjagutta police. The incident occurred on December 24, 2023, when Saheel @ Raheel Amir @ Baba and his friends crashed a luxury car into a barricade near the CM’s camp office at Begumpet before fleeing to Dubai via Mumbai, prompting a look out notice.
