The Telangana Police have issued a public advisory making it mandatory for all accommodation providers, medical institutions, and educational establishments to report details of foreign nationals within 24 hours under the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025. The directive applies to hotels, hostels, guest houses, house owners, hospitals, and any premises providing accommodation or sleeping facilities to foreigners. All such entities must submit foreigner details in Form III, previously known as Form-C, to the Registration Officer through the designated online portal within a day of accommodation or enrollment. These records must be maintained for a minimum period of one year.
Educational institutions including schools, colleges, and any establishments admitting foreign nationals are also required to comply with similar reporting requirements. These institutions must submit details in Form II, formerly called Form-A, within 24 hours of admission or enrollment via the online portal. The records of foreign students must be retained for at least one year as per the provisions of the Act. The advisory emphasizes that all educational establishments admitting foreign nationals must strictly adhere to these mandatory requirements without exception.
Deputy Commissioners of Police (Law & Order) in Hyderabad have been directed to conduct awareness programmes to sensitize accommodation providers, medical institutions, and educational establishments about these mandatory requirements. The awareness campaigns aim to ensure that all stakeholders understand their legal obligations under the Immigration and Foreigners Act and implement the reporting procedures correctly. The police department has emphasized the importance of timely compliance to maintain proper records of foreign nationals staying or studying in the state.
The advisory warns that failure to comply with the provisions of the Act will result in legal consequences. All managements of hotels, hostels, guest houses, house owners, hospitals, and other accommodation providers, as well as educational institutions admitting foreign nationals, have been advised to strictly follow the mandatory reporting requirements. The police have made it clear that no exceptions will be made and all entities must ensure complete compliance with the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025 to avoid penalties.
