Text Size: 100%

In Hyderabad, students studying alternative medicine under the category of AYUSH feel discriminated against compared to their peers in modern medicine. The issue of low stipends for AYUSH house surgeons in Telangana has been raised multiple times over the years, but their pleas have been ignored. While AYUSH house surgeons in Telangana receive a stipend of Rs. 13,754, those in Andhra Pradesh get Rs. 22,527, creating a disparity.

Despite working just as hard as their counterparts in modern medicine, AYUSH house surgeons in Telangana face demoralizing discrimination. AYUSH doctors at Gandhi Nature Cure Hospital expressed frustration over the lack of recognition and lower stipends compared to allopathic doctors. The workload on AYUSH doctors is also higher due to insufficient AYUSH hospitals. These concerns have not been addressed by the government in the past.
