The Begumpet Police have made a big breakthrough by arresting a man involved in a series of motorcycle thefts across the city. The suspect, 33-year-old Rayudu Chaitanya Sai Kumar from Bhadradri Kothagudem District, was caught while handing over stolen motorcycles to an associate at the Ghatkesar Railway Station.

This arrest came after a bike theft was reported at the Begumpet Police Station. Officers carefully studied CCTV footage, which gave them important clues. They tracked down the suspects and arrested Sai Kumar along with his accomplice, 28-year-old Mahdyanapu Jagadeesh, at the railway station. Further investigation led the police to discover seven more stolen bikes at the Ghatkesar Bus Stand, meant for another associate, Kunchala Hari Krishna, 25. In total, the police recovered 59 stolen motorcycles worth ₹42,00,000 from different parts of Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda.

The stolen bikes came from various locations, with many taken from areas like LB Nagar, Kukatpally, and Miyapur, showing how widespread the thefts were.

According to the police, Sai Kumar used a unique method to steal the bikes. He mainly targeted motorcycles parked at metro stations. After stealing them, he made fake registration certificates online and sold the bikes to unsuspecting buyers. To avoid getting caught, he often stored the stolen bikes at railway stations and bus stands. His associates, Jagadeesh and Hari Krishna, helped him sell the stolen vehicles.

The arrests were led by Ms. S. Rashmi Perumal, IPS, DCP North Zone, along with other officers from the Begumpet division. The police are urging the public to be careful by using better locking systems and parking in secure, monitored areas.
