Chicken prices in Hyderabad have reached a record high, which is not good news for those who enjoy eating chicken. Normally, chicken prices decrease in the summer because of the high temperature causing hens to die. However, demand for chicken is high during the summer because of the wedding season. The current price for skinless chicken is Rs 310 per kg in retail markets, with higher prices in slum areas. Chicken with skin is being sold for Rs 260 to Rs 280.
These prices have been fluctuating for the past two weeks, with an average of 5 to 7 lakh kg of chicken being sold per day. Last Sunday alone, 50 lakh kg of chicken was sold in Hyderabad. This information was provided by a member of the chicken dealer association.
