The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA) conducted a major demolition drive in Gachibowli, removing illegal structures linked to Sandhya Sridhar Rao within the Fertilizers Corporation of India Employees Cooperative Housing Society (FCI) layout.

The action was carried out following High Court orders that directed authorities to address violations in the housing society. The illegal constructions had encroached upon designated roads and parks, disrupting the approved layout plan.

A five-storey building constructed across a 40-ft road with an iron frame was completely removed, clearing the stretch for public use. The demolition team also brought down Mango Food Court, which had encroached upon the same road.

Another establishment, UNO Food Court, also built on the 40-ft road, was demolished during the operation. Authorities partially removed a petrol bunk that had extended onto the main road, violating municipal regulations.

At two separate locations, nearly 40 food containers and Chinese food stalls illegally set up on 25-ft roads were cleared. These temporary structures had significantly narrowed the roads, causing traffic congestion and safety concerns.

The cellar ramps of a hospital building that had been constructed by encroaching onto the 40-ft road were also demolished. The ramps had reduced the available road width, creating obstacles for vehicles and pedestrians.

In total, HYDRAA cleared illegal structures at seven locations across the layout. The demolition drive focused on restoring road boundaries to their original specifications as per the approved layout plan.

Following the completion of the operation, road boundaries were re-established according to the official layout. The restoration work ensured that the roads returned to their designated widths, improving traffic flow and public safety.

The High Court directive had specifically ordered the removal of unauthorized constructions that violated building regulations and encroached upon public spaces. The court emphasized the need to protect common amenities like roads and parks within residential layouts.

Plot owners in the FCI layout expressed satisfaction with the demolition drive. Residents had long complained about the illegal encroachments that had blocked roads and reduced open spaces in the society. The restoration of road boundaries has been welcomed by the community as a step toward proper urban planning and compliance with legal norms.
