On Thursday, February 12, the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) took action against illegal land occupations. They targeted an area near the Madhapur Hitech Exhibition Centre and successfully reclaimed 11 acres of land valued at Rs 2,200 crore.

In the Khanamet village located within the Serilingampally mandal of Ranga Reddy district, officials conducted a detailed inspection before the operation. They found that encroachers had occupied the land, using the boundary of a nearby temple as a false claim to justify their presence. Over 30 shops were set up in the area, including mechanic sheds and iron and steel shops.

These establishments generated a significant monthly rental income, amounting to several lakhs. On the same day, HYDRAA cleared the illegal structures and secured the area by installing fencing.
