HYDRAA has reclaimed 2,500 square yards of government land in Kandikal village, located in Bandlaguda mandal. The property, recorded under Survey Numbers 303 and 306, had long been protected by the Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) Act.
Despite this, two individuals—Syed Basheeruddin and Syed Ameenullah Hussain—illegally occupied the land. They constructed concrete rooms, tin-roofed sheds, and shops without any legal approval.
The duo made several unsuccessful attempts to legalize their possession. Meanwhile, residents in the area raised concerns through the Prajavani public grievance platform.
In response, HYDRAA launched a detailed inspection. Officials reviewed land records and confirmed the encroachment. The matter had also reached the High Court, which ordered the removal of all unauthorized structures.
Acting on the court’s directive, HYDRAA launched a demolition drive. The team tore down four permanent buildings, several tin sheds, and four illegally built shops.
After the operation, authorities installed signboards clearly marking the area as government-owned land.
Some local leaders and supporters of the encroachers tried to interrupt the demolition. However, with strong backing from the local police, the officials completed the task without any major disruption.
Villagers welcomed the action. Many expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath, and the involved revenue and police departments.
Residents said they felt relieved and proud to see public land returned to its rightful owner—the government.
