Shadnagar MLA Veerlapalli Shankar has called for transparency in the allocation of double-bedroom houses in the constituency. He raised concerns about irregularities in the selection process during the previous government’s tenure. The District Collector, Bharti Holikeri, supported Shankar’s claims and stated that undeserving beneficiaries were given houses instead of genuinely needy individuals. She emphasized the importance of fair allocation without bias. Holikeri also acknowledged the history of arbitrary house allocations to officials and leaders instead of deserving beneficiaries. Despite these challenges, she called for cooperation from officials to ensure effective service to the people. Shankar also highlighted the need for transparent governance and an impartial administration. He discussed various important issues with the Collector, including the challenges faced by the public in accessing administrative facilities and the need to align government programs with the aspirations of the people.
