    Income Tax Raids at Sukumar’s Residence

    The Income Tax Department carried out a raid at the residence of Sukumar, the director and co-producer of the hit film Pushpa 2: The Rule, on Wednesday morning. This raid came a day after similar searches were conducted at the properties of Mythri Movie Makers, the producers of the film.

    Sukumar, who was reportedly at the airport when the raid began, was brought back to his home by IT officials for questioning. According to reports, the raid started early in the morning and continued until noon. Sources have indicated that the officials are probing suspected hidden assets and unreported funds tied to the film’s production team.

    In addition to Sukumar, the IT department also conducted searches at the residences and offices of V Venkata Ramana Reddy, also known as Dil Raju, the chairman of the Telangana Film Federation Development Corporation (TGFDC). This marked the second day of raids on Dil Raju, who is known for producing recent blockbusters like Sankranthiki Vasutnnam and the big-budget film Game Changer.

    Reports suggest that the IT officials discovered discrepancies in income tax payments after examining financial documents related to the production costs and revenues of recent blockbuster films by Mythri Movie Makers and Dil Raju. The investigation is ongoing.
