Amidst growing speculation that the BJP has a secret understanding with the BRS party in Telangana, Union Minister Anurag Thakur dismissed these claims. He stated that the probe agencies will not spare anyone involved in the Delhi Excise Policy case, including Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter K Kavitha, who was mentioned in a charge sheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Thakur mentioned the arrests of former deputy chief minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia and AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy. He said that Kavitha’s name is also mentioned in the case and is being investigated by the agencies. Thakur emphasized that no one will be spared and their number will come one by one.
However, rival parties like Congress expressed doubt over the statements made by BJP leaders, as they believe that their words do not match their actions. They pointed out that similar statements have been made in the past, only for things to be put on hold. They also questioned how a Union minister can predict the actions of the probe agencies.
Interestingly, Thakur’s statements and those of another Union Minister and state BJP president G Kishan Reddy were contradictory regarding the probe into the sinking of pillars at the Medigadda project. Thakur stated that an investigation will be conducted into alleged corruption in the Kaleshwaram irrigation project and strict action will be taken. He accused KCR of hiding his family’s corruption. On the other hand, Kishan Reddy mentioned that the Centre cannot order a CBI probe on its own, but if the government requests it, the probe will be immediately initiated.
