Gadwal: On Saturday, the 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated enthusiastically at Smriti Vanam in Jogulamba Gadwal district. District Additional Collector Lakshmi Narayana joined the event, performed yoga, and highlighted yoga’s role in fostering a healthy community.
Mr. Lakshmi Narayana wished everyone a happy International Yoga Day. He compared taking care of our bodies to nurturing farmland. Just as good seeds and care yield a rich harvest, practicing yoga and maintaining positive thoughts lead to good health.
He spoke about yoga’s preventative power, contrasting it with doctors who treat illness after it occurs. “Yoga is more than exercise,” he said. “It promotes mental peace and physical health.” He encouraged dedicating 30 minutes daily to yoga for strength and stability.
He pointed out that yoga enhances personal well-being, family happiness, work performance, and societal peace. After the event, the Additional Collector held a yoga session for the IDOC office staff, discussing yoga’s benefits in professional life.

Yoga Day at VR High School, Aiza Municipality
At the same time, VR High School in Aiza Municipality celebrated International Yoga Day. BJP leaders like former District President S. Ramachandra Reddy and others attended.
Mr. Ramachandra Reddy discussed yoga’s deep ties to Indian culture. He recalled the first International Yoga Day on June 21, 2015, which set two Guinness World Records with participants from 84 countries. Since then, June 21st is celebrated worldwide.
He noted how yoga masters, celebrities, and public figures highlight yoga’s benefits at these events. “Yoga in our lives means healthier living,” he said. He mentioned that even foreigners appreciate yoga’s benefits.
Mr. Reddy stressed yoga’s role in reducing stress and anxiety, calling Surya Namaskars vital. “Yoga’s global day is well-deserved,” he remarked.
