Hyderabad: To teach students more about sustainability, the Kapra Lake Revival Group (KLRG) and Bhavan’s Sri Ramakrishna Vidyalaya (BSKRV) Sainikpuri campus will hold a special event on April 29. It will be a full day of hands-on activities focused on protecting the environment.

The event is part of the annual All India Bhavan’s Meet, which BSKRV is hosting from April 26 to 29. Around 400 students from across the country will attend. As part of the meet, KLRG will organize a large sustainability experience for students on the last day.

A member of the Kapra Lake Revival Group explained that the day will start with a cleanup of Kapra Lake. This is not just for show—it will help students develop habits that are good for the environment. Each student will also get a special zero-waste travel kit, which includes a stainless steel flask, cup, and plate. This way, they can avoid using disposable items even during meals.

Throughout the event, students will practice sorting waste properly. Bintix, a major waste management company in Hyderabad, will collect all the separated paper and plastic during the camp.

The program will also include a visit to Rashtrapati Nilayam. There, students will see a traditional step well used for rainwater harvesting, along with herbal gardens, fruit orchards, and the President’s museum. This trip will show them how sustainability connects with India’s rich heritage.
