    Karimnagar: The Telugu New Year, Ugadi, was joyfully celebrated across the united Karimnagar district on Sunday. People marked the beginning of the new year, Sri Vishwavasu Nama Samvatsaram, by decorating their homes with traditional green leaf decorations known as thoranams. They wore new clothes and exchanged greetings with family and friends. Special holiday dishes like Ugadi Pachadi and Bakshalu were enjoyed by many.

    One of the main rituals of the day, Panchanga Shravanam, was held at the Shakti Mata Temple in Karimnagar. During this event, astrologers read out predictions for the year ahead. Vedic scholars Puranam Korede Sridhar Sharma, Srinivas Sharma, and Vamshi Krishnamacharya shared forecasts based on sun signs. They predicted that the year would bring prosperity and good rainfall, which would be especially helpful for farmers.

    Many important leaders took part in the celebrations. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar attended the Panchanga Shravanam at Sri Mahashakti Temple. IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu joined programs in the Manthani division, and State BC Welfare and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar participated in the event held in Husnabad Town.

    The celebrations in Karimnagar were filled with prayers, rituals, and cultural traditions, showing the community’s strong faith and cultural heritage.
