Hyderabad: Telangana Jana Samithi Chief, Prof Kodandaram, shared his plans to serve as a link between the people and the government on Thursday.
During an informal discussion with the media, Kodandaram mentioned that his new role involves receiving flowers, shawls, and petitions from people coming from different places. He assured that he would look into these matters and report them to the concerned authorities. Kodandaram emphasized that, just as he has been accessible to the people in the past, he remains available to them now and will work to bridge the gap between the public and the government.
When asked about a potential position in the Cabinet, Kodandaram clarified that there had been no discussion regarding a ministerial post. He added that his role was intended to be broader. Reflecting on the past, Kodandaram noted that after the formation of Telangana, they were invited to join the TRS (Telangana Rashtra Samithi), but they did not agree. He explained that although they did not publicly announce their support as JAC (Joint Action Committee), they backed it during the elections. He also stressed that after the formation of Telangana, another effort was needed to ensure the state’s development.
Regarding the party’s participation in local body elections, Kodandaram stated that this matter still needed to be discussed within the state committee. He acknowledged the government’s decision to waive loans, calling it a bold move that made many farmers happy. However, he noted that some farmers did not receive loan waivers due to delays in sending ration cards during the previous government, which created challenges in the loan waiver process.
