Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao, the working president of BRS, voiced deep concern on Tuesday about food poisoning and student deaths in Telangana’s residential schools. He blamed the state government’s negligence for these tragic incidents.
KTR criticized the government, highlighting that over 1,000 food poisoning cases were reported in the past year, affecting numerous students and leading to more than 100 deaths. He held Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy accountable for these tragedies in the schools. Despite these events, neither the state government nor Education Minister Revanth Reddy reviewed the situation. KTR described this as a clear sign of their uncaring and authoritarian leadership. He stated, “When over a thousand incidents occur and children suffer, the government remains inactive.”
KTR urged Revanth Reddy to consider the situation from a parent’s perspective. He questioned if the Chief Minister would remain silent if his own children faced such dangerous conditions. KTR emphasized the need for immediate action from Revanth Reddy.
He reminded the Chief Minister of his past question regarding accountability for student deaths and demanded an answer. KTR noted that BRS had repeatedly raised concerns about food poisoning and student fatalities, but the government often responded with superficial measures.
KTR accused the government of minimizing the seriousness of the issue and using political tactics. He called for immediate and decisive action to prevent further tragedies in Gurukul hostels. If the government remains indifferent, KTR warned, the BRS will persist in fighting for the people’s cause.
