Hyderabad: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao announced that the party’s silver jubilee public meeting will be the biggest event in its history. He said this celebration marks 25 years of the party and will be followed by year-long activities, with one programme held every month.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, KTR said the grand public meeting will take place in Elkathurthy, Warangal. The location was chosen to avoid traffic issues and minimize problems for the public. The event will be held on a massive 1,200-acre area and will include parking and other large-scale arrangements.

He pointed out that only two political parties in the Telugu States—Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and BRS—have completed 25 years. That’s why the BRS is planning ongoing celebrations throughout the year.

The party has applied for permission to hold the event on March 28 and has submitted a request to the district police. KTR also met the Director General of Police (DGP) personally to seek approval. The party has asked for 3,000 RTC buses to help transport attendees, and the RTC has agreed in principle. Since April 27 is a Sunday, KTR said the event will not cause problems for students and the general public.

KTR shared that party chief K Chandrashekar Rao has already reviewed the event preparations with leaders from all 33 districts. Special committees have been formed to manage the arrangements. He mentioned that this event would be as significant as the massive meeting held earlier in Warangal.

After the public meeting, the BRS plans to begin digital enrolment of new members, especially students and activists. This will be followed by the election of a new party president. The party will also form committees at village, district, and state levels. Training sessions for party workers will be held across the state.

KTR also recalled past occasions when the government denied permission for BRS events, which caused difficulties. He warned that if permission is denied again, the party will go to court to seek approval. “This is a peaceful celebration, and there is no reason for the government to refuse,” he said.
