Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao, the working president of the BRS, stated on Thursday that if the party had any agreement with the BJP, a female member of his family would not have been imprisoned for 150 days. He emphasized that the party is focused on strengthening itself for the next 50 years.
During a gathering at Telangana Bhavan, where former Congress leaders from Station Ghanpur joined the BRS, Rao mentioned that rival parties have been trying to dismantle the BRS since it began. However, the party has remained resilient for 24 years and intends to continue its strength for the next 50 years.
Rao addressed rumors suggesting that the BRS would merge with other parties. He clarified that when he visited Delhi to consult with lawyers, there were false claims of a secret deal with the BJP. He questioned these rumors by asking why, if such a deal existed, a family member would be jailed for 150 days, while no Congress leader is facing a similar situation. He further alleged that BJP leaders are acting under Congress’s influence.
The BRS leader also mentioned that by-elections in the state are unavoidable and urged party members to prepare to challenge the Congress. He recalled that the BRS had previously filed cases against MLAs Danam Nagender, T Venkat Rao, and Kadiyam Srihari in the Supreme Court and plans to take further legal action against other MLAs.
Rao announced plans to reorganize the party starting at the village and mandal levels. Training programs for party activists will begin in district offices in September. Additionally, party president KCR will soon meet with members from each constituency to reinvigorate and strengthen the party.
KTR criticized the Congress, stating that young people, farmers, and women have seen through the false promises made by the party. He mentioned that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had once sworn to waive Rs 2 lakh in crop loans but labeled the Congress as unreliable. He concluded that the public will not be misled by the Congress’s public relations tactics and theatrics.
