Khanapur: District Collector Abhilasha Abhinav has directed officials to make sure the distribution of fine rice in the district goes smoothly.
On Wednesday, the Collector visited a ration shop in Mamada mandal of Nirmal district. There, she personally handed out fine rice to the beneficiaries.
During her visit, she checked the quality of the rice being given out. She also made sure that the rice stocks matched the quota and verified the records in the stock register. The Collector observed how the rice was being distributed using biometric verification.
She gave important instructions to the officials. She stressed that strict steps must be taken to avoid any problems during the rice distribution. She also said that officials should plan properly so that all ration shops in the district have enough rice.
The distribution of fine rice in the district began on Tuesday. The Collector urged the staff to work hard and make sure the rice reaches beneficiaries on time.
Tehsildar Srinivas, officials from the Civil Supplies Department, dealers, staff, and others were also present during the visit.
