Hyderabad: On Monday, KT Rama Rao, the working president of BRS, criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent comments on GST. He highlighted the lack of action on the H-1B visa issues and mentioned that people would only celebrate when they receive Rs 15 lakh in their bank accounts as previously promised.

Speaking at a meeting with party workers in the Jubilee Hills Constituency at Telangana Bhavan, Rama Rao expressed disappointment with Modi’s visit. He expected the Prime Minister to address the H-1B visa situation but instead, Modi focused on the GST rate cut. Rama Rao criticized the government for previously keeping prices high and now expecting citizens to celebrate a reduction. He pointed out that despite a drop in crude oil prices, petrol and diesel prices remain unchanged. He sarcastically commented that people would celebrate if the government returned the money taken over the last eight years or deposited Rs 15 lakh into their accounts.

Rama Rao also questioned the absence of the promised two crore jobs per year, accusing Modi and the BJP of engaging in politics based on religion.

The BRS leader also criticized Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for demolishing homes belonging to the poor. Rama Rao questioned why these demolitions occurred on Sundays, noting that the High Court had previously ruled against such actions on holidays. Despite this, houses in Gajularamaram were demolished during a court holiday.

He warned that Revanth Reddy might bring bulldozers to Borabanda Basti in Jubilee Hills next. Rama Rao urged people not to support the Congress Party, equating a vote for them to allowing a “bulldozer rule” that targets their homes. He promised to rebuild the house of a party activist named Sardar, which was demolished. He criticized the Congress for accomplishing nothing in two years and noted that bulldozers only target the homes of the poor, not those of influential individuals.

Rama Rao further alleged that the Chief Minister’s brother and ministers like Ponguleti and Vivek had constructed homes on government land and water tanks, yet those buildings were not demolished.
