Once upon a time, Jawahar Bal Bhavan was a popular spot for kids and parents during summer vacations. However, today it lacks recreational activities for children. Parents and activists are urging the state government to restore it to its former glory.

Jawahar Bal Bhavan used to offer various educational and recreational programs for children, but it has been neglected for over a decade. The building lacks maintenance and the library is missing children’s books. Despite being funded by the Telangana Education Department, officials have shown little interest in improving its condition.

Social activist Mohammed Abid Ali highlighted the importance of Jawahar Bal Bhavan in enriching young minds and preserving Hyderabad’s heritage. The building’s architectural charm and serene surroundings are a reminder of the city’s cultural legacy. However, it is currently unused and in need of attention.

During the time of united Andhra Pradesh, Jawahar Bal Bhavan was bustling with children participating in summer activities. Now, no events are being organized, forcing parents to seek alternatives at a higher cost. Despite efforts to raise concerns with officials, no action has been taken to address the deteriorating state of the Bhavan.

Efforts to contact officials at Jawahar Bal Bhavan for comment were unsuccessful. The neglect of this once vibrant hub for children’s activities is a disappointment for many families in Hyderabad.
