Gadwal: The village of Chinnonipalli in Gattu mandal, located in the Gadwal constituency, is facing severe problems due to heavy rains. Floodwater has entered homes, causing significant disruption to the lives of the residents. To address the situation, MLA Bandla Krishnamohan Reddy visited the village and assured the people that the government would provide all necessary help.
During his visit, the MLA announced that each of the 250 affected families would receive financial aid of Rs 7,500 to help cover transportation costs as they temporarily move to safer places. He also reminded the villagers that the government had earlier proposed setting up a Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) center with modern infrastructure to prevent future floods.
Reddy mentioned that 70% of the work on a nearby reservoir, which is meant to help prevent such flooding, is already complete. He urged the residents to relocate to the new R&R center for their safety and comfort. He further promised that essential services such as electricity and water would be provided at the new center.
The MLA compared the current situation to a similar case in Alur, where successful resettlement efforts had taken place. He assured the villagers that they would receive the same level of support. He promised to bring their concerns to the attention of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and assured them that their issues, including the awarding of new homes and land titles, would be resolved within the next three months.
Several officials and leaders were present at the event, including former district library chairman Jambu Raman Goud, senior Congress leader Gaddam Krishna Reddy, Patel Prabhakar Reddy, former MPP Vijay, and many other local leaders and villagers.
