The Manikonda municipality council in Ranga Reddy is known for its discord between the chairman and councillors over various issues. These include alleged unauthorized constructions, connections between builders and officials, and political favoritism.

Recently, there has been tension over the growing number of unauthorized weekly markets. Some councillors are unhappy with these markets being organized in non-approved areas, where goat and fish stalls operate in unhygienic conditions. They believe this causes annoyance among locals.

Councillor Srikanth Swami from ward 9 has raised concerns about meat being sold openly in these markets. Despite objections in council meetings, the markets have expanded without proper permission. Swami and other councillors have faced backlash from market organizers for speaking out against these practices.

During a recent incident at a market near Ganesh Chowk, Swami objected to the negligent way meat business was being conducted. This led to an argument with flesh traders and organizers, highlighting the ongoing tensions within the council.
