A significant event took place in Mahabubnagar where 24,713 cases were resolved swiftly in one day during the National Lok Adalat on Saturday. This initiative, backed by the National Legal Services Authority and guided by the District Legal Services Authority, received a strong response from those involved in legal disputes.
To manage the large number of cases, special setups with five benches at the Mahabubnagar District Court and two at the Jadcherla Court were arranged. The Lok Adalat addressed various issues, from motor accident claims to civil matters, demonstrating its effectiveness in resolving disputes through compromise.
One notable motor accident claim, Case No. 457/2024, initially sought ₹50 lakh in compensation. However, a settlement of ₹33 lakh with New India Insurance Company was agreed upon. District Judge B. Papireddy presented the award, with Advocate Ashok Goud representing the petitioner.
The event saw the involvement of many senior judicial figures, such as R. Sridevi (Family Court Judge), T. Raja Rajeshwari (POCSO Court Judge), and others including V. Eshwarayya (DLSA Secretary) and G. Radhika.
Prominent police officials like SDPO P. Venkateshwarlu and DySP G.V. Ramana Reddy also contributed, alongside insurance lawyers, bank officials, advocates, and Para Legal Volunteers. Their efforts were crucial to the event’s success.
The National Lok Adalat has proven again to be an effective means for peaceful and prompt dispute resolution.
