A man in Hyderabad was beaten to death by his roommates because he didn’t cook rice. The victim, Hansram, was 38 years old and originally from Rajasthan. He had moved in with his roommates in Jeedimetla after his wife left him due to his alcohol addiction.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 2 but was only reported recently. Hansram used to live in a rented house in Qutbullahpur before moving in with Binay Singh in Jeedimetla. Binay Singh, who worked for a local granite merchant, had offered Hansram a place to stay. Two of their colleagues, Sonu Tiwari from Bihar and Sandeep Kumar from Uttar Pradesh, also lived nearby.
When the roommates returned home from work that day, Sonu and Sandeep, who were intoxicated, got into an argument with Binay Singh for not cooking rice. They ended up assaulting both Binay Singh and Hansram, resulting in Hansram’s death. The accused then fled the scene.
After the incident, Binay Singh informed his employer, who then contacted the police. An investigation is currently ongoing into the case.
