The Telangana government has finalized the list of people eligible for the Indiramma Housing Scheme 2025. Out of 77.18 lakh applicants, only 36.03 lakh have been approved, making up 46.7% of the total. The remaining 41.15 lakh applicants, or 53.3%, were declared ineligible because they fall above the Below Poverty Line (BPL) criteria.
Officials grouped all applicants into three categories: L-1, L-2, and L-3. Each year, the government plans to sanction 4.5 lakh houses, with around 3,500 houses allotted per constituency.
All applications were submitted through the Indiramma App. After a thorough screening process, applicants were classified as follows:
– L-1: People who own land but live in huts or temporary shelters.
– L-2: People without any land or house ownership.
– L-3: People who work in government jobs, own houses or cars, pay income tax, or are above the BPL level.
The first list was prepared in February 2025. However, after receiving several complaints, the government conducted a second round of field verification. This led to a rise in the number of ineligible applicants, especially in the L-3 group, now totaling 41.15 lakh.
According to the scheme’s rules, individuals listed under L-3 cannot receive housing benefits. In contrast, 18.67 lakh applicants from the L-1 category and 17.36 lakh from the L-2 category have been found eligible for the scheme.
The Indiramma Housing Scheme 2025 aims to provide secure housing to those who truly need it, ensuring that only deserving families receive support.
