Hyderabad is buzzing with excitement as preparations are underway for the Milad-un-Nabi procession this Sunday. The event marks the 1,500th birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed. The city, especially the Old City, is adorned with green flags and bright lights.
This year, many events are planned, including conferences, large gatherings, and Mehfil-e-Milad to honor the Prophet, whose teachings guide many. Celebrations will continue throughout the year, marking 1,500 years. On Sunday, 100 events will take place, including 50-60 food distribution programs, 12 Jalsa events, and 38 religious processions.
In a gesture of communal harmony, the Muslim community postponed the Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi procession to September 14 to avoid clashing with the Ganesh immersion procession. This shows the ongoing respect and unity among communities in Hyderabad.
Various city areas are gearing up for grand celebrations. Streets and buildings, particularly in the Old City, are decorated with colorful lights. Milad-un-Nabi is a major festival for Sunni Muslims, featuring processions with songs praising the Prophet.
