State Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao is unhappy with the Telangana State Beverages Corporation for making incorrect decisions regarding liquor policy. He believes that these decisions are bringing a negative reputation to the government and the Excise department. The Minister conducted a four-hour review of the Excise department at the office in Nampally.
During the review, the Minister expressed anger towards the officials of Beverages Corporation for finalizing licensing procedures for liquor companies without consulting the government. He has instructed the Commissioner of Excise Department MD Sridhar and General Manager of Breweries Corporation Abraham to investigate and provide a detailed report on this matter.
The Minister emphasized the Congress government’s commitment, under CM A Revanth Reddy, to closely monitor the manufacturing, supply, and sale of narcotics, illegal liquor, and other harmful substances. He urged officials to create a database of manufacturers, suppliers, and vendors involved in these activities. The Minister also stressed the importance of collaboration between the Excise Department, Anti-Narcotics Bureau, and Police Department.
Additionally, the Minister recommended utilizing technology and launching awareness campaigns through various media channels to educate the public about the dangers of drugs. He suggested organizing meetings with parents and teachers to raise awareness and increase surveillance to prevent the distribution of narcotics. The Minister assured that the government is supportive of its employees, encouraging them to report any issues directly to him.
Furthermore, the Minister proposed providing incentives to employees who perform well, prioritizing them for promotions, rewards, and transfers based on their performance.
