Khammam – Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu has called for improved healthcare services in government hospitals. During a visit to the District Government Hospital on Thursday, he stressed the need for better treatment and facilities for patients.
He was joined by Health Minister C Damodar Rajanarasimha, Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, Health Principal Secretary Christina, District Collector Muzammil Khan, and Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt.
The officials toured several areas of the hospital, including the reception, help desk, old age clinic, ICU, pharmacy, female ward, and laboratories. They spoke directly with patients to understand their experiences and asked whether they were receiving full medical care and free medicines. They also checked if doctors were referring patients to private clinics unnecessarily.
The ministers inspected the quality of food served to patients, ensuring it met proper health standards. They reviewed the lab testing process and asked how long it took to deliver test results.
Additionally, outsourced hospital staff submitted a letter to health officials. They requested regular payment of salaries and asked for their jobs to be made permanent.
The visit highlighted the government’s focus on strengthening public healthcare and ensuring better service for all patients.
