Wanaparthy District Collector Adarsh Surabhi voiced serious concern on Thursday after the district ranked 29th in the state in the recent SSC (Class 10) exam results. Known for its strong academic reputation, the low ranking came as a disappointment.
During a meeting with school officials, including the District Education Officer (DEO) and headmasters, Surabhi called for immediate action to improve performance. He asked the DEO to identify teachers whose students underperformed and arrange special training programs for them.
He stressed that government school teachers must ensure zero student failures in the next academic year. “Every student should pass,” he said firmly. “Teachers must give their best and take full responsibility for their subjects.”
The Collector also instructed education officials to create a list of Class 9 students struggling with mathematics. Starting June 12, these students will attend one-month special coaching sessions to strengthen their skills ahead of the next academic year.
He made it clear that in next year’s Class 10 exams, no student should fail. If any student does, the teacher in charge of that subject will be held responsible.
The meeting was attended by DEO Abdul Ghani, ACG Ganesh, Mandal Education Officers (MEOs), and school headmasters.
