Hyderabad is getting ready to host the 72nd Miss World Pageant, a major global event that could boost tourism in Telangana in a big way.
Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary for Tourism, shared the government’s vision during a press conference held on Tuesday. He explained that bringing the Miss World competition to Hyderabad was not easy, but the goal is clear—use this global platform to show off the state’s culture, history, and hospitality to the world.
He said the event is more than just a beauty pageant. It’s an opportunity to promote Telangana’s rich heritage, delicious cuisine, vibrant culture, and modern infrastructure—not only in Hyderabad, but across the entire state.
Ranjan pointed out that many international tourists still focus on well-known destinations like the Taj Mahal, Jaipur, and Kerala, often overlooking gems like Telangana. Hosting Miss World is a step toward changing that perception.
He also mentioned that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy wants the event to be open to everyone—not just celebrities or VIPs. “This event is for the people,” Ranjan said. “We want the public to take part and feel included.”
Anyone interested in attending can visit the official tourism website, www.tourism.telangana.gov.in, to request entry passes.
Ranjan emphasized that Miss World is just the beginning. With careful planning and community involvement, he believes it will be a strong foundation for future events and long-term growth in Telangana tourism.
