**Hyderabad:** Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced that the State government will set up an Education Commission to improve the current education system in the state. He emphasized that his government is dedicated to providing quality education, skill training, and employment from Anganwadi and primary schools to universities.

At a meeting with Professors at the Secretariat on Friday, the CM shared that the government has issued a notification for the appointment of over 11,000 teacher posts. They will conduct the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) twice a year and provide uniforms and textbooks to all children on the first day of school. Additionally, infrastructure in schools will be improved through State School Committees.

Revanth Reddy said, “We will take all the necessary steps to strengthen the system of government schools and invite good suggestions from educationists.”

Professors Haragopal, Kodandaram, PL Visweswara Rao, Santha Sinha, Aldas Janaiah, Lakshminarayana, and former IAS officer Akunuri Murali attended the meeting. They discussed the challenges facing the education system and made some suggestions.

The Professors pointed out that Anganwadi centers lack good facilities and that teachers are not adequately skilled to teach students.

In response, the Chief Minister proposed converting Anganwadi centers into pre-schools and appointing trained volunteers to teach pre-primary education. A plan is being prepared to establish semi-residential and residential schools for Classes IV to XII. This would ensure education from preschool to Class III, along with free transport for students.

The experts also highlighted that teaching staff appointments in universities have been on hold for the past 10 years, and Vice-Chancellor (V-C) posts remain vacant. CM Revanth Reddy mentioned that search committees have been formed for V-C appointments and that the official process will be completed soon.

Professor Aldas Janaiah requested the CM to provide development grants to universities and establish study centers focused on historical development for in-depth discussions on various topics.
