Bhupalapally: District Collector Rahul Sharma has stressed the importance of spreading awareness about the new Bhu Bharati Revenue Act across all mandals in the district.

To discuss the implementation of the Act, he held a teleconference with officials from all departments, including tahsildars and MPDOs. He also discussed the process of selecting beneficiaries for Indiramma housing.

The Collector asked tahsildars to schedule and organise awareness programmes about the new Act in every mandal from April 17 to 30. He also instructed that help desks be set up at every tahsildar office, where people can get information and assistance regarding the Act.

He highlighted the need for detailed notes on revenue matters at the mandal level. All activities such as registrations, mutations, successions, and sada bainama must be carried out according to the new law. Revenue officials must fully understand the Bhu Bharati Revenue Act.

The Collector also urged officials to treat people respectfully when dealing with land-related concerns and to keep clear records of all cases. He announced that one mandal in the district would be chosen for a pilot project in May to test the new procedures.

On the topic of Indiramma housing, Sharma said the poorest families should be given priority. The selection process must be fair and transparent. Each village should have a list of potential beneficiaries, and gazetted officers will be appointed to verify these lists.

Each gazetted officer will be responsible for checking 200 names, reviewing at least 25 beneficiaries each day, and completing the task in eight days.

The final beneficiary lists for Indiramma housing should be submitted by April 21. Field inspections by special officers will take place from April 22 to 30 to confirm the eligibility of the families listed.
