Hyderabad witnessed “Operation Muskaan XI,” a major effort led by the Ministry of Home Affairs, running throughout July in Telangana. The Women Safety Wing spearheaded this campaign, successfully rescuing 7,678 children.
To achieve this, 121 Sub-Divisional Police Teams with 786 officers collaborated with the Women Development and Child Welfare Department, along with Labour, Health, CWCs, DCPUs, and various NGOs. Preparations included a state meeting on June 27, 2025, and training on laws like the Juvenile Justice Act and Child Labour Act. High-risk locations like train and bus stations, religious sites, and construction areas were thoroughly searched.
Of the 7,678 children saved, 7,149 were boys and 529 were girls. Among them, 3,787 hailed from other regions, including Odisha, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and even Nepal.
The children were classified as Child Labour (6,718), Street Children (357), Begging (42), Bonded Labour (2), and other jobs (559). Authorities registered 1,713 cases and arrested 1,718 individuals, which led to the rescue of 1,745 children related to these cases. This operation affirmed the Telangana Police‘s dedication to ending child trafficking and bonded labour.
