The Telangana government has launched a major digital initiative to deliver school report cards directly to parents through the MeeSeva platform. More than 18 lakh student report cards have been sent to parents via WhatsApp, marking a significant step in the state’s digital governance efforts. The system covers annual report cards for students from Classes 5 to 9 studying in government schools across the state.
The digital delivery system eliminates the need for parents to visit schools physically to collect their children’s report cards. Parents now receive complete academic information including subject-wise marks and attendance details directly on their registered WhatsApp numbers. The initiative ensures a fast, secure, and paperless process that saves time for both parents and school administration.
This new system has been implemented across all government schools in Telangana, reaching families in urban and rural areas alike. The digital platform provides instant access to academic performance data, allowing parents to stay informed about their children’s educational progress without any delay. The report cards are delivered in a secure format that maintains the confidentiality of student information.
IT and Communications Minister D Sridhar Babu highlighted the importance of this initiative in bringing technology to every student and parent in the state. He emphasized that the digital delivery system not only saves time and reduces costs but also strengthens the government’s commitment to digital governance. The minister stated that such initiatives ensure that technology benefits reach the grassroots level.
The MeeSeva platform, already known for delivering various government services to citizens, has now expanded its scope to include educational services. The integration of school report cards into the platform demonstrates the state government’s focus on leveraging digital infrastructure for public welfare. The system has been designed to handle large volumes of data while maintaining accuracy and security.
The paperless system represents a shift from traditional methods of report card distribution and aligns with environmental conservation goals. By eliminating the need for printed report cards, the government has reduced paper consumption significantly. The initiative has successfully delivered over 18,00,000 report cards digitally, covering students across multiple classes in government schools throughout the state.
