The Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Hyderabad plans to send notices to Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy, and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
On Friday, Kishan Reddy shared that he received a call from Jubilee Hills police about his phone being tapped. This also involved the phones of the former BJP state president and other key leaders. He was asked to provide evidence for the case.
Reddy criticized the former BRS government, accusing them of unethical practices. He claimed they tapped phones of not only civilians but also IPS and IAS officers, High Court judges, and politicians for political gain and business deals. He questioned how BRS leaders could justify such actions to the public.
Reddy expressed doubts about the thoroughness of the phone-tapping investigation. He wondered if the actual offenders would be caught or if there were hidden agreements. He stressed the need for the SIT to deliver a comprehensive report and urged the state government to pursue the case in court to regain public trust.
Meanwhile, SIT officials reached out to Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Friday evening. They informed him about the phone tapping and requested his help in the investigation. The police asked to record his statement, and he agreed to check his availability.
As these events unfold, the police are getting ready to send notices to both ministers.
