Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) arrested four foreign nationals. These include two Nigerians, one Tanzanian, and one Sudanese, all staying in India illegally after their visas expired.
The police detained Maxwell Anthony Izuchukwu (29) and Chinaza Nnanna Vivian (38) from Nigeria, Mwajuma Almasi Masisila (30) from Tanzania, and Ahmed Hamid Abujabr Hamid (27) from Sudan.
Mwajuma Almasi Masisila arrived in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad on a tourist visa. She was linked to drug dealers, including Chinaza, Maxwell, and Ahmed. These individuals were involved in drug activities in Bangalore and Hyderabad. The H-NEW team detained them based on intelligence reports.
YVS Sudheendra, DCP Task Force/H-NEW, mentioned they couldn’t justify their stay. No drugs were found in their possession. Their identities and visa details were verified with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), confirming their visas were expired and they were overstaying while engaging in drug peddling.
“They entered on various visa types like tourist, medical, and student visas. After their visas expired, they didn’t return home and got involved in drug-related activities,” said the DCP.
Following their arrest, H-NEW began the deportation process with the FRRO‘s help. Staying longer in India could lead to more drug peddling. They completed necessary steps with the respective embassies and FRRO. These individuals will be blacklisted from re-entering India to prevent further threats to national security.
H-NEW urges Hyderabad’s public to avoid drugs, advising parents to watch their children’s activities closely. Report any drug-related information to H-NEW at 8712661601. “Together, let’s ensure a Drug-Free Hyderabad,” the statement concluded.
