The Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) and the Cyberabad Traffic Police held a meeting with IT and ITES companies in Gachibowli and Raidurgam on Friday. The meeting, led by Joint Commissioner (Traffic) Joel Davis, aimed to discuss ways to reduce traffic congestion in the busy IT corridor.
During the meeting, Davis and SCSC general secretary Ramesh Kaza talked about initiatives to improve traffic flow. They stressed the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies and companies to address traffic challenges. One suggestion was staggered work schedules to spread out rush hour traffic and reduce congestion.
The deployment of traffic marshals was also discussed. SCSC provided 50 marshals and Raheja Mind Space contributed 30 more. These marshals will help regulate traffic flow within IT campuses. Carpooling was highlighted as a way to reduce congestion, lower emissions, and promote sustainable commuting practices.
The meeting also touched on implementing a centralised transport system for better public transportation. It emphasized the importance of crisis management drills to ensure readiness during emergencies. The collaborative efforts between Cyberabad Traffic Police, SCSC, and IT/ITES companies aim to create a more efficient and sustainable traffic system in the IT corridor.
Overall, the goal is to improve the commuting experience for employees and residents by implementing these strategies.
