Hyderabad: The city police are getting ready for the upcoming Diwali festival by allowing shops to sell crackers. To do this, they will issue special orders. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in each zone will give out licences to people who want to sell crackers temporarily. This will be done according to the Explosives Act of 1884 and the rules updated in 2008.
People who want to sell crackers must apply for a temporary licence by filling out a form called AE-5. The application process started on October 11. The last day to submit the form is October 26. Any applications sent in after that date will not be accepted.
To apply, people need to include certain documents with their application. These include a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Divisional Fire Officer and land permission from GHMC if they are using government land. If they are using private land, they need a NOC or agreement from the landowner. If they had a licence last year, they can also attach a copy of that (but it’s not mandatory).
Other required documents include a NOC from neighbors if the shop is in a permanent building, a blueprint of the shop’s site plan, and the original receipt for the licence fee of Rs 600. This licence fee must be paid at the SBI treasury branch in Gunfoundry, under a specific account.
The police also mentioned that any applications missing these required documents will be rejected right away.
