Hyderabad: On Sunday, Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy urged officials to handle all land-related applications from farmers quickly. These applications were submitted during ongoing revenue meetings across Telangana, excluding Hyderabad district.
Since June 3, revenue meetings have been held in 7,578 villages across 561 mandals, receiving 4.61 lakh applications. These meetings aim to tackle land issues and will continue until June 20. The Minister asked officials to review and resolve these applications promptly with empathy, as he led a review meeting to oversee these activities.
The Indiramma government aims to solve all land issues by August 15. Mr. Reddy noted that farmers have struggled with land problems for over a decade. The Dharani Act complicated matters for farmers, leaving them to seek legal solutions frequently. Mr. Reddy has attended around 50 revenue meetings under the Bhu Bharati Act in the past two months. He stressed the importance of implementing the Bhu Bharati Act effectively to benefit farmers.
A pilot land survey is ongoing in five ‘Naksha villages’ with no recent surveys or records. This survey began in the third week of June in five villages out of 413 Naksha villages. Progress includes surveying 337 acres in Salar Nagar, 269 acres in Kommanapalli, 445 acres in Mulugumada, 232 acres in Nuguru, and 308 acres in Shahidnagar. So far, 1,591 acres of 2,988 acres have been surveyed. Officials are to finish the survey within ten days to avoid disputes.
These new processes aim to improve land transparency and resolve disputes, greatly helping farmers and rural landowners.
